A new Comet!

We have a new comet in the sky - Comet C/2007 F1 LONEOS is visible in Coma Berenices in both eveing and morning light, though it is close to the Sun so the sky will always be a little light. Nevertheless I have managed to capture this image, believed to be the first from Ireland. Currently around mag 7.5, LONEOS is expected to brighten, possibly as bright as mag 4 or 5 in weeks to come. Well worth keeping an eye on!



The Comet is the green fuzzball in the dead centre of the image!
